Lithonia Veterans Day Salute
 
 

The City of Lithonia Inaugural Veterans Day Parade serves as an opportunity to honor the brave men and women from every generation who have risked their lives to preserve our freedoms.  It will be centerpiece of the celebrations in Lithonia for Veterans family, friends, civic leaders and politicians to come together on this day to honor all the branches of the military.


The City of Lithonia and The Lithonia Veterans Day Committee, is proud to announce the Inaugural Veterans Day Parade on November 10, 2012, starting at 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The parade will starts at Lithonia Middle School and will make its way through downtown Lithonia where it will end at The Bruce Street African American Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Living and Fallen Veterans.

Shipwreck Survivor Lanier W. Phillips

LITHONIA VETERAN

The woman cradled Lanier W. Phillips's head in her arm as if he were a baby, gently feeding the shipwrecked sailor hot soup she had brewed to help save his life. "Swallow," she said gently. "Swallow."
